BRIDGES BEYOND BENEFITS

(STEPUPSAVANNAH.ORG) Step Up Savannah is engaging in advocacy and work targeting the Public Benefits Cliff, which is when an individual is ineligible for public benefits but still has insufficient income to cover their essential living expenses. Through surveys, listening sessions, and researching best practices around the country, we have learned that if we can break silos and resource gaps, we can better assist people in our community. Step Up launched the Bridges Beyond Benefits (B3) Network on July 1, 2022, a Facebook group designed to bridge the public benefits’ cliff by encouraging community and peer engagement through information and resource sharing. The hope is that the B3 Network will serve as a space for the community and social safety net to connect.
