MARCH IS WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
(HEALTHY SAVANNAH) March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of great women. Women’s history is integral to our understanding of all history at all times. Examining the stories of historically marginalized populations reminds us of our progress and areas of growth. Women’s bodies are politicized and health concerns can be minimized or dismissed. When we think of intersectionality, we are reminded of the unique ways in which women of color experience health disparities. Healthy Savannah’s work centers around finding ways to overcome these barriers. Our partners have made great strides—we are approaching the anniversary of the completion of the Savannah H.O.P.E. Photovoice Project and the declaration of Savannah as a Breastfeeding and Chestfeeding Friendly Community. we are looking forward to future strides we will take.

BUDDY NEEDS A HOME
(COASTAL PET RESCUE) Buddy is a big beautiful, affectionate puppy who originally came to rescue in November 2021 with his siblings and momma. He was adopted and his family had started some basic training with him before they had to return him. Buddy already knows a few basic commands, like “sit” and is very good at leash walking. He is still a playful puppy and has some anxiety if left alone, particularly if crated. We’d like to see Buddy with a family that understands that he is still a puppy and will take the time to continue to teach him manners. He will be a large dog when grown so a home with a fenced yard would be ideal.
