Encourage Health Grant Awarded to Chatham County 4-H
(SAVANNAH, GA) Enmarket and Healthy Savannah presented a $1,000 grant to the Chatham County 4-H Youth Development program as part of the 2018 Encourage Health Education series.
The organization helps kids and teenagers in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. 4-H’ers learn through hands-on agricultural and environmental experiences that emphasize awareness, leadership, communication skills, food, nutrition, health, energy, conservation and citizenship.
“These funds will help our student members grow and work together to experience and accomplish the extraordinary,” said Sergia Gabelmann, Chatham County 4-H agent. “They can choose from more than 63 projects covering everything from air science to wildlife, and this grant will go a long way in ensuring they will do great things in the year ahead. We are deeply appreciative.”
The presentation was made during the final lunchtime lecture in the 2018 Savannah series.
This marks the fifth year for the Enmarket Encourage Health Education Series, conducted in partnership with Healthy Savannah, Sandfly Family Dental, Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., Clover Health, Hoist Water, Savannah Morning News and Savannah Magazine.
Plans are underway for the series to continue in 2019 with four presentations to be scheduled from April through October.
