Original Skin Tattoo Parlor Opens at the Savannah Mall
(SAVANNAH, GA) The Savannah Mall announces the grand opening of Original Skin Tattoos and Piercings, located on the upper level of the Savannah Mall. Opening on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m., the Original Skin artists will offer a variety of tattoo styles, emphasizing on 3D realism, portraits, and cover ups, body piercing and custom airbrushing.
As part of the grand opening celebration, Original Skin will be launching “Tattoos for Ta-Tas” month-long charity fundraiser benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation. All Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbons, Survivor, and Memorial tattoos will be at a discounted rate and proceeds will be donated to the foundation. Donations will also be accepted at the counter.
First-time business owner, Jason Chaplin and his team of four tattoo artists will consult and design all ideas for the client’s satisfaction. Originally from the Savannah/Richmond Hill area, Chaplin has previously worked at Brass Anchor Tattoo and Tattooz by Pete.
“To deny that tattoo culture is consistently becoming more and more mainstream would be ignorant. I want our tattoo parlor to break away from the stereotype and provide a place for the public to experience where art of all mediums and entertainment meet and creativity can run rampant,” said Chaplin.
In the front of the new tattoo shop, a gallery will be showcasing multiple local artists, to display paintings, hand made metal and leather jewelry and accessories, photography, and skin care products.
As Original Skin artists’ specialties include cover up tattoos, once every month a social media contest will be held to determine a worthy candidate for up to four hours of free cover up work. Conjointly, Original Skin Tattoo parlor will be endorsing a charity every month in which a percentage of proceeds with be donated, kicking off with Susan G. Komen.
