The company was started in March 2003 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dan Agmon is owner and operator of Agmon Marine Services Inc. Jeanie Agmon acts as general manager.
Dan Agmon, originally from Israel, has spent most of his life around yachts. He began his career working for Caterpillar Israel, moving on in 1995 when he recognized an opportunity to serve as chief engineer on a 115ft dive boat based out of Israel.
Since coming to the U.S., Dan has served as both chief engineer and captain on luxury yachts. He was chief engineer on the 151ft M/Y Turmoil, captain of the 80ft M/Y Full Circle, and engineer on the 172ft M/Y Taipan. He also worked on numerous projects before and since opening Agmon Marine Services, including a year spent in Denmark as one of the project engineers for the new 210ft Royal Denship M/Y Turmoil, handling six annual dry dock periods on the 151ft M/Y Turmoil, a 6 month refit on the 80ft M/Y Full Circle, and a 7 million dollar refit on the 172ft M/Y Taipan III.
In 2007, Dan Agmon was asked to travel to Savannah for a refit on the 118ft M/Y Rebecca. While working on the project, he recognized the need for technicians like himself outside of South Florida, where access to service technicians able to work on vessels of all sizes was limited to the boating public.
Agmon Marine Services, Inc. now provides service to Savannah and its surrounding areas, operating as far north as Charleston, and south to Jacksonville, Florida. However, Dan Agmon operates a mobile service and is able to work on any vessel, in any location, with proper notice and scheduling.
