LEADERSHIP SOUTHEAST GEORGIA GRADUATES CLASS OF 2019
(SAVANNAH, GA) Twenty-five business and civic leaders from 10 southeast Georgia counties graduated from the 2019 session of Leadership Southeast Georgia (LSEGA), wrapping up with a session in Chatham County. The five-month program, which is in its 20th year, is designed to connect and inspire engaged community leaders to improve the overall quality of life in Coastal Georgia. The group’s fifth and final session included discussions of health and infrastructure, featuring tours of ongoing projects in Savannah, the Waters Professional Health Services Building on the Armstrong campus of Georgia Southern University, and the Georgia Ports Authority as well as Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. LDSS HOSTS CAMP BUDDY 2019 IN EFFINGHAM AND LOOKS AHEAD TO CHATHAM COUNTY CAMP
(CHATHAM AND EFFINGHAM COUNTIES) The Lowcountry Down Syndrome Society (LDSS) will host its eleventh annual Camp Buddy summer camps in Chatham County later this month. The Effingham County camp was held June 24-28. In Chatham County, it will be held July 8-19. Camp Buddy offers programs to prepare children for the upcoming school year with the goal of promoting information retention from the previous year. Special education teachers along with occupational, physical and speech therapists have worked to design a customized curriculum for the program.
