The Promenade Historic District Hotel (formerly Best Western Savannah) will hold its official grand opening event on April 17th from 5:00-7:00pm. There will be a ribbon cutting, tours and a grand opening party for the invitation only guests. Nearly 200 people are expected to attend, including 1st District Alderman Van Johnson.
Also in attendance will be Vesta Hospitality’s President/Owner Rick Takach and Vice Presidents Laurie Leh and Mark Hemmer. Vesta Hospitality serves as the management company for The Promenade.
Described as a "charming blend of old and new," The Promenade Hotel is considered to be one of Savannah’s most affordable premier hotels.
"Savannah is a city that offers a lot to its tourists," says Jeff Fouste, Promenade’s General Manager.
"We knew that if we wanted to compete with the city’s most luxurious hotels, we had to be more luxurious."
At a cost of more than $3.1 million, Fouste and his crews revitalized the old, outdated hotel, making The Promenade one of the biggest and newest renovations in the historic district. The building has undergone a major face lift on the outside with a newly completed brick and stucco exterior, and has been gutted and restored on the inside. The end result is 89 hotel rooms with all the amenities imaginable, ranging from flat panel televisions and plush bedding to free wireless high-speed internet, and free cable and premium channels.
The Promenade is the only hotel located on both Bay and River Streets, where the pulse of Savannah can be found both day and night. It is also within walking distance to many historic Savannah points of interest, including Paula Deen’s "Lady and Son’s" restaurant, as well as the Savannah Civic Center and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Additionally, the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport is conveniently located just ten miles from the hotel.
