Locally Owned Savannah Mall Store Announces Grand Re-Opening Event

Sweet Southern Sass invites the community to Ice Princess Party

(Savannah, GA) Sweet Southern Sass, formerly known as Lydene’s Gifts and Collectibles, is on the move. The store, which has been a Savannah Mall fixture for more than a decade, is moving to center court, and has also been renamed to reflect its expanded line of merchandise. The public is invited to the grand opening celebration of Sweet Southern Sass on Saturday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A ribbon cutting will kick off the celebration at 10 a.m.

“All of the characters from a very popular children’s animated movie will be there, including the Ice Princess and her sister, plus their favorite snowman,” said owner Lydene Fiocca. “We plan to have many other similar family-fun events in the coming months at both of our Savannah Mall stores.”

Some of the new lines of boutique merchandise, including trendy t-shirts along with women’s clothing and jewelry, feature the Simply Southern® collection, Ginger Snaps™ jewelry and Lily Grace tees. The store is also carrying Fripp and Folly™ tees for men.

Fiocca’s other store, Southern Sass, is being renamed “Sweet Southern Sass Too” and will soon feature kids-only merchandise. Fiocca is moving all of the store’s current adult clothing lines to the larger Sweet Southern Sass store, located directly across the Mall’s center court.

“In addition to several lines of children’s tees, clothes and accessories, Sweet Southern Sass Too will feature a stage for character appearances and for kids to come up for some karaoke sing-alongs,” explained Fiocca. “In the future, we’ll be hosting special snow day events featuring the characters in a space decorated like an ice castle.”

ABOUT SWEET SOUTHERN SASS AND SWEET SOUTHERN SASS TOO
Savannah native Lydene Fiocca opened Lydene’s Gifts and Collectibles in Garden City, Ga. one week before the terror attacks of September 2001. Afraid the business might not survive, Fiocca opened a temporary store at Savannah Mall to attract attention. The response was so overwhelming she decided to stay on at the Mall. She later added a second store, Southern Sass, which carried men’s tees along with women’s and children’s clothing. In 2015, Lydene’s Gifts and Collectibles was renamed Sweet Southern Sass, and moved to a larger space near the Mall’s center court. The new store features women’s clothing, jewelry, gifts and collectibles, while Southern Sass was renamed Sweet Southern Sass Too and now exclusively carries children’s merchandise including Mud Pie®, Missy’s Prissy’s, Mustard Pie and Feltman Brothers®. The mission of both stores is to make customers feel like family. They are located directly across from each other on the lower level near the center court of Savannah Mall. Store hours are 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
