(SAVANNAH, GA) Savannah Challenger participant started the year by winning the Heineken Open in New Zealand on January 16, 2010.
The victory catapulted Isner into the top 30 for the first time, and also allowed him to surpass Sam Querry to become the #2 ranked American for the first time, behind only Andy Roddick, in the Australian Open. Isner has stated that one of his goals is to finish the year ranked in the top 20 and given the latest results,  it looks as though he may well reach his goal.

Isner has also been named as a practice partner for the US  team in the 2010 Davis Cup season. He will  will likely qualify to play singles for the US Davis Cup team for the first time in his career due to the absence of Andy Roddick and James Blake.

John has graduated from the Challenger Circuit, but almost certainly, all the folks from Savannah that watched him play in the 2009 Savannah Challenger wish him well on the ATP Tour.
