John Dodge Meyer has moved to Celia Dunn Sotheby’s International Realty as a sales associate.
Meyer has extensive experience renovating historic properties and selling them. He has bought, remodeled and sold 12 houses in the last 17 years, first in Nashville, Tennessee, and now in Savannah. Meyer also began a restoration business shortly after moving here in 1997.
“I have been very passionate about real estate, both as a homeowner, renovator, and now as a real estate agent,” Meyer said. “What I bring to my work with buyers and sellers is a deep understanding of both their needs, as well as all the skills I’ve gained during a rich and varied career path: people skills, communication skills, listening skills, a high set of professional standards, attention to detail, and foremost, a thorough knowledge of historic homes and the Historic Savannah real estate market.”
Meyer’s early career interest was in Architecture, through a family connection to Spring Green, Wisconsin and the influence of Frank Lloyd Wright. He left Architecture to pursue an entertainment career in Los Angeles, eventually earning undergraduate and graduate degrees in broadcast television, film-making, and related media. For the next 20 years he produced and directed programs for public television and theatrical presentation, mainly in the fields of science, nature, history and music.
