(GARDEN CITY, GA) The Garden City Homestead Association’s community garden will share its fourth harvest with the community at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, in a program that will include food demonstrations and education sessions. Healthy Savannah Announces New Chairperson at 14th Annual Meeting

(SAVANNAH, GA) Healthy Savannah celebrated 14 years of milestones and installed new officers at the organization’s annual meeting on May 18 at the Charles H. Morris Center. The public-private coalition launched by former Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson in 2007 also renewed its commitment to create and support a healthier, safer, and more accessible environment for all people to live, learn, work, pray, and play.

(SAVANNAH, GA) Center Parc Credit Union donated $3,500 to the Savannah Urban Garden Alliance (SUGA). The Alliance partners with schools, farmers, philanthropists, local businesses, and volunteers to increase access to and knowledge of urban gardening practices in order to provide local citizens with access to fresh produce, healthy food, and a self-sustaining knowledge base that effectively eliminates food deserts.

Homestead Harvest Giveaway Jan 30: Fighting hunger one harvest at a time. Center Parc Credit Union Sponsors Harvest Giveaway

(GARDEN CITY, GA) The Garden City Homestead Association’s community garden will share its third harvest with the community at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, in a program that will include food demonstrations and education sessions. This is one of eight community gardens Center Parc Credit Union has awarded funding within the past six months.

The Garden City public is invited to share in a winter vegetable harvest that includes collards, cabbage, broccoli, and kale at the event, to be held at the garden, 4115 Second St. in Garden City. Representatives from the Garden City City Council are among those expected to attend.
